The recent critique of #ESG in the current circumstances of armed conflict and consequent spiraling of oil prices leading to inflation and impact on the wallet is not now as secondary concerns such as climate might not be clear and present danger for many countries and communities. Climate Change is a scalar matter with incredible contextual specificity. Companies and communities in the direct line of the just transition narrative will be first movers.
ESG is the riskfication of the sustainable development paradigm which has been around since Rio- that is three decades back. ESG is an instrument towards a just transition, a framework which works as a pragmatic ethics filter.
