Our media diet requires consumption from verified sources and an established edit team has fact checkers and people to cut through the fake news. As our digital society evolves, we need more old school journalism than ever.

How can anyone attempt to write on life, and it’s inherent messy through a strict methodology or a disciplinary lens?

Yes, exhaust the literature, gauge the silences and erasures. Engage with the wider field. Get a sense of what to convey and find ones voice. Find a unique vocabulary to communicate. Too difficult?
