A common refrain which i have heard about my writing and research for a variety of target audiences is that it is activist, and yes, we articulate ideas to push the envelope, create avenues of listening where there are one. It is about moving the needle, thinking about possibilities which are snuffed by the mundane quotidian. Not all writing takes place to fill a ‘literature gap’, as lived experiences of communities are not merely data for your h index.
Fortunately, there are spaces of digital dialogue that are emerging, so one cannot be silenced anymore or cancelled. I cannot be cancelled, as there are other sides to the story.
