Through the Highways of Globalization
A writerly voice is a gift. Once that is in place, writing has a ‘framework’. I have written so many proto drafts of my initial conceptualisations of my book since 2013 and discarded them. Despite the lived experiences and conversations, I simply did not have the wherewithal to write succinct sentences which captured the depth of the story.
Thankfully I write for numerous outlets edited by previous souls over the years especially since December 2019.
Cities are delicious repositories of stories, and the Gulf has plenty of them. I have a few and these are histories with a small ‘h’ of the migrant with a small ‘m’.
The everyday is visceral, isn’t it? A new language is needed to express the Gulf.
